We have two business models: Spherion Technology, which concentrates on staffing information technology-centric positions, and General Staffing, which connects job seekers and employers in light industrial, administrative, non-clinical healthcare, educational support, customer service, hospitality, sales and marketing. 

Staff is a business’s most expensive but valuable asset. Clients use our services to realize significant operating efficiencies and cost savings. This means there is demand for our services whether the economy is up or down. According to Staffing Industry Analysts, the staffing industry is expected to grow 6% and reach a record $216.8 billion in total revenue in 2023.1

History

Spherion has been a leader in the staffing and recruiting industry for over 75 years. We began as City Car Unloaders in Chicago, IL but now offer staffing and recruiting services in dozens of industries. While our company name and logo has changed a few times, our passion for helping people find meaningful jobs and for helping businesses grow has never wavered. Spherion has continually adapted to meet the dynamic needs of job seekers and employers so everyone experiences success. 

 

Superb Training and Support

New Spherion franchisees receive more than 150 hours of training/support for planning and opening your franchise. Our corporate support includes in-person and web-based training for sales, marketing, human resources, and back office expertise. No owner opens their doors less than fully prepared to go to market.  

Spherion also requires all new franchisees to attend our new owner boot camp at our corporate offices in Atlanta, GA. This one-week training curriculum reinforces Spherion’s proven operating practices, quality philosophy and culture while building your recruitment and business development skills in a collaborative environment with other new Spherion franchisees. 

Once you open your office, we join you for 80 hours in the first month of operation to continue building your confidence as a new staffing business owner through sales and operations skill development. This additional in-person assistance helps you jump-start revenue growth while making room for you to focus on clients and candidates from the start. We offer concurrent training to your new and seasoned staff members to support their professional development and ensure a fast start to productivity and revenue generation.  

Spherion’s training curriculum continues with monthly online events about technology, recruitment, compliance, safety, workforce trends and business development. We never stop assisting our owners and their teams with their professional growth in pursuit of ever-greater business success. 

 

 

Ideal Candidate

The ideal Spherion franchise owner is an entrepreneurial-minded person who desires to be their own boss with the support and resources a national company can offer. While we prefer some level of business experience, our franchisees come from all walks of professional life: business, finance, education, law, retail, sales, and more. 

We have military veterans, first-generation business owners, and multi-generational owners in our franchisee family. Spherion franchisees employ a strong work ethic and collaborative leadership strategies to create a legacy while providing employment opportunities that better the communities they live in.
